Our Story

The idea of starting TEAM School began back in the mid-1970s when co-founders Ken Philbrook and Art Steinberg were young teachers at the beginning of their careers. The pair's in-home tutoring service eventually grew into a school, TEAM (Tutorial and Educational Assistance in Mississauga) - offering academic upgrading and extra support to students aged 8-12 years old as they worked their way towards achieving grade-level proficiency.

Mentor College grew out of TEAM School. The aim of Mentor was to provide an academic setting for students who had progressed beyond the needs of the small group, individualized instruction that TEAM School provided. Mentor College eventually grew into a multi-division school with two campuses educating children all the way from JK to university entrance.

Today, Mentor College & TEAM School are home to 1600 students spread across three campuses: the Mentor College Main Campus (Grades 5-12), the Mentor College Primary Campus (JK-Grade 4), and TEAM School (Grades 1-8).
